Celebrate Valentine’s Day weekend by treating someone special to ballets by two of the world’s most accomplished choreographers. Artistic Director Stephen Mills brings you RUBIES from George Balanchine, the father of American ballet. This work is the red-hot centerpiece of Balanchine's iconic ballet, JEWELS, full of spark, sass and neoclassical choreography that’s uniquely American. Mills pairs this iconic piece with a contemporary ballet by Tony Award®-winning choreographer Christopher Wheeldon of Broadway and New York City Ballet fame. Wheeldon's GHOSTS transports you to an ethereal place where lost souls are looking for love. It showcases a softer, fluid style of dance that’s as haunting as the specters on stage performing it.

Both ballets feature incredible symphonic music by legendary composer Igor Stravinsky (Rubies) and Grammy-nominated classical composer and star of the rock band Winger, C.F. "Kip" Winger (Ghosts), with the talented musicians of Austin Symphony Orchestra performing these masterworks live. Join us for two hopelessly romantic dance works and a classical music concert destined to leave your restless heart longing for more!
